“con la voce d’aquilegia” explores, over its three sections—each sprouting from the seed of “canto patriarchino” (a typical form of sacred song from Aquileia Patriarchate) —the organ’s potential, first as an ancestor of the synthesizer, id est as an attempt to synthesize and to emulate other instruments throughout the ages in which it was built; then as a grand tome of Christianity and the West, from which emerge contradictory shards and fragments of diverse traditions and musical genres; and finally as an experimental workshop, from Frescobaldi to Stockhausen, where voices meet and clash in contrapuntal dialogue.
